  10. The AmigaOne X1000 is not like other
  11. computers. It's based on a PowerPC
  12. CPU architecture, it includes Xena,
  13. a "Software Defined Silicon"
  14. co-processor, and above all it runs
  15. AmigaOS 4.

  17. It is 25 years since the launch by
  18. US computer company Commodore of the
  19. Amiga A1000, a revolutionary machine
  20. that introduced multimedia and
  21. multi-tasking to the world. While
  22. AmigaOS has continued in development
  23. (making it possibly the longest
  24. developed and used desktop OS in the
  25. world) the hardware side has had a
  26. harder time of it since the demise
  27. of Amiga's old parent company,
  28. Commodore.

  30. 2010 is the year we come back. A-EON
  31. technology, in co-operation with a
  32. small group of mainly European
  33. companies, are creating a new
  34. high-end, prestige platform that
  35. will once more allow the Amiga
  36. Operating System to shine.

  38. The X1000 ends the years of AmigaOS
  39. being relegated to a ghetto of
  40. outdated hardware - great as it was
  41. at the time, the world has moved on
  42. a long way since the days of
  43. Commodore. For the first time in
  44. many years, AmigaOS has a genuinely
  45. modern hardware platform.
